hello! I'm Carmen and I do a mix of researching (ethnographic and political economy), multi-platform storytelling and producing (interdisciplinary, participatory narratives, social experiments and games/play). I was born in Southend-on-Sea (that's Essex in the UK) to immigrant parents from Hong Kong, did my BA in London, but have worked for the last 10 years in mainly Shanghai, São Paulo and Johannesburg.. on socio-economic projects, with non-profits and developing independent productions (at least in the last 6 years, worked more commercially before that). Currently doing an MA in Global Political Economy, applying theory to creatively model social, economic and political systems. At the moment, I am investigating into commoning (of intangible property.. comparing 'social imaginaries' to other forms of IP) and platform cooperativism. I like mapping, languages, mountains, all forms of play.. and watching weaver birds weave.
